Miya Chinen (
Appearance[]
Miya is a young boy with black hair that has two long hair strands sticking upward in the back with two smaller strands of hair at the top of his head that sticks out and aquamarine/sea-green eyes.
His uniform is a long-sleeved black under shirt with an unusually styled uniform. He also wears grey shorts along with a brown belt as well as white socks and a beret, plus a pair of brown dress shoes.
In "S", Miya wears a dark pink striped shirt, a purple tail underneath a light green short sleeved hoodie with purple cat ears and he has a black skateboard with a purple "X" on the top part of the deck and a variety of cats on the bottom with the saying, "Game".
Personality[]

Miya's smugness
Miya was a carefree boy when he was younger, but he has grown into someone who can seem very cocky at times. However, this is likely part of a persona he adopted following the events shown in the flashback after his beef with Langa Hasegawa.
He was interested in skating from a young age and would often skate with his friends. During this time, Miya had fun skateboarding with others. He mastered the skills of skateboarding quickly, such as mastering the ollie in only two weeks.[6] His natural ability for skateboarding bred resentment in his friend group, and the better Miya became and the more awards he won, the more quickly his friend group diminished.[7] It was around this time that of his friends, Takashi, proclaimed that heroes can't team up with slimes, which was what led Miya to his world view that he is the hero and everyone else around him are the slimes.

Miya arguing with Shadow
Miya can be impertinent towards others, even maligning them upon first meeting, for example when he called Reki Kyan a slime. Miya appears to look empty often, as said by Adam and noted by Reki, who stated that Miya didn't look like he was having fun in a clip from one of Miya's recent interviews.
Miya is shown to be somewhat competitive, being almost sure he was going to win during his race against Langa. It appears that it was Adam who coerced Miya into racing Langa, even though Miya didn’t really care for it. Yet, Miya was impressed by Langa’s skating. Although he was determined to win, Miya was horrified that Langa might fall from the weakened, rusty rails in the factory so much that he stopped skating to shout out a warning to Langa. Had he not stopped to warn Langa of the danger, it's very possible that Miya would have won the race.

Miya touched by Reki's words
It’s shown that Miya isn’t much of a fan of letting others see his weaknesses. For example, after his first race with Langa, Miya shared with Reki and Langa that "it's common for people to leave you the better you get." Reki promised that no matter how good Miya became, Reki would never leave him. This caused Miya to become visibly tearful, but instead of letting the tears fall he wiped them away and called Reki “weak”.
Because of Miya's experience with his friend group abandoning him the more skilled he became at skateboarding, he is most likely afraid of letting someone get close to him again fearing they will leave. Despite this, he seems to take Reki's promise to not abandon him at face value and he has maintained a friendship with him, Langa and Shadow. Moreover, because Adam has stuck around despite pushing Miya to do things he may not be interested in such as racing Langa, it's possible that Adam's words are just as cutting when he says that Miya is "all empty again."
Abilities[]
Miya is a talented skater and one of the more well-known racers in "S" where he got into skateboarding very early in life and used to do it for fun with his childhood friends, but he excelled at a much faster rate than them and lost their friendship in the process of becoming a well-known young skater.[7] He's known for his performances at junior skating competitions, he is one of the most likely candidates for the Japan national skateboarding team and he even has a manager due to his fame.[7] Miya also has a strict diet he sticks to and he is familiar with athlete training regimens.[8]

Miya's skill
- General Prowess: Miya is an extremely skilled skater for his age, already surpassing many adult skaters due to his innate talent and dedicated training routines. He's able to perform many tricks and is also formidable as an opponent in a race, essentially making him an all-rounder in the world of skateboarding.
- Tricks: Miya has showed that he is capable of pulling off many a difficult skateboarding trick with relative ease, specializing in less common party tricks such as board handstands and manouvering a flipped board with his feet alone.[7] These tricks seem to be what allowed him to become so well-known in competitions and even within the skateboarding subculture as a whole. During beefs, Miya likes to put to use his more dynamic tricks such as his rail slide, showing that he has access to a wide range of different tricks when skating.[7][8]
Background[]
As a child, Miya loved skating and had fun with it before he began improving and received many awards for his skateboarding achievements as he grew up. However, this lead to his friends assuming that he saw them as "sidekicks" and that he looked down on them. Because of this misunderstanding, Miya lost his friends over time, which eventually brought about his negative outlook toward the idea of friendship as a whole.
Miya hasn't seemed to have much fun in skateboarding after that incident and appears to only want to improve for the sake of it. He is shown to be upset that he lost to Langa Hasegawa after the two beef. After Reki Kyan consoled him and promised he would never leave no matter how skilled Miya became, their friendship sparked. Since then, Miya has accompanied Reki and Langa and has, over the course of the series, developed a brotherly bond with them.

- Miya has no interest in girls right now, but since he’s a famous middle schooler, he used to getting a lot of chocolates from all over the country. For a date, he’d probably do typical normal things for a middle schooler like go to a game center or to a fast food place or go see a movie.[9]
- Miya learned how to ollie in 2 weeks.[6]
- Miya would not eat things like wasabi.[10]
- Miya would not like a surprise proposal. He would not like a grand reception. He would not want "see ya" kisses everyday. He still doesn't know what he'd want for his honeymoon. - Miya would go to a zoo for a summer date because he likes animals. He'd lead at first, but once he sees the animals, he'll act his age. Visiting the petting area is a must. If there was unexpected rain, he'd be prepared with a foldable umbrella, but his date might get wet anyways because of his size.[14]
- Miya's preferred fashion sense is cute things appropriate for his age, really childish. He would have tissues and a handkerchief in his bag, his game system, and things his mother tells to take with him. For a date, Miya would think over it properly and get everything ready the prior day so that he'll be stylish, before going to bed. Since Miya likes cats and other animals he loves soft things, though would probably not like fluffy clothes. He would like clothes with cat designs. The cat eared hoodie and pants with a cat tail on it are actually from a game Miya loves. Miya's mother probably takes care of buying his clothes for him when they go out shopping together. Instead of a shopping date, Miya would be happier going to an animal café, especially a cat café. Miya's mom does his laundry. If someone snapped a picture of him on the street, Miya would probably pose for it, since he's used to having pictures taken of him.[15]
- Miya probably believed in Santa while in elementary school, but figured the truth out from television and the internet and then told Takashi that Santa isn’t real. Before loving skating, Miya would want games for Christmas, probably the newest most popular titles. His parents are probably worried about his eyesight.[16]
- Miya would receive omotenashi from others, and Reki treats him like a younger brother, though Miya would get angry if treated like that too much.[17]
- Miya dislikes tomatoes.[1]
- Miya's tournament card is the Seven of Diamonds.[18]

- Besides Manager Shokichi Oka, Miya is the only other person that Sketchy overtly likes. In an episode preview when Reki is asking him questions with one being who's his type, Miya responds with his fondness for animals.
